How does this project qualify as a CSR initiative?

TotalEnergies as a responsible energy company seeks to create positive impact to her host communities through empowerment and socio-economic development. This projects does exactly that as it’s a non-profit venture for TotalEnergies, fund recuperated through the venture will go only into programs related to waste recycling and doesn’t come to TotalEnergies but goes to a recycling fund managed by UNITAR. Basically TotalEnergies is giving back to the society without asking or expecting direct returns to us. We believe that a healthier, wealthier and empowered society benefits business in the long run.

Is the venture scalable and sustainable?

Yes indeed, that is the beauty of the model. It can be seen as a seed that will generate more crops if nurtured.
